Hunting Safari Information

Making sure you have all the hunting safari information and requirements for your trip to Africa while staying in remote areas is essential. To make your visit comfortable and worry-free, it is important to ensure all your personal and official documents and needs are more than covered.

The African Seasons

The seasons in southern Africa are the opposite of those in Europe and America.

Throughout the year, early mornings can often be chilly and cool but start to warm up around 9am. The day can start to cool off after 4 o’clock, but temperatures can vary greatly into the evening and night hours.

It is advisable to pack sensibly for hunting in Africa. You will need layers of clothing to feel comfortable throughout the day. Midday can be extremely hot and sunny, so a light shirt is needed, but a warm jacket may be needed in the fresher early mornings when we set off on the hunt.

Food And Drink In the Camps

Food

Our standard menu includes a variety of meats, salads, fresh vegetables, and starches.

Breakfast is flexible according to your preference.

Packed meals are provided when necessary, and of course, snacks are always available.

Please notify us at the time of booking of any food allergies, likes, or dislikes.

Drinks

We supply whiskey, vodka, gin, beer, and wine of decent but not extraordinary quality. High-end alcohol can be arranged by request, at extra cost, or brought with you.

Soft drinks, cordials, and bottled water, as well as tea and coffee, are provided. Special requests can be catered for by advance arrangement if local resources are available.

Communications

All camps have phone networks.

Local SIM cards can be bought at the port of entry for use during your safari. For groups, a cell phone router can be arranged by prior request.

Vehicles

4X4 vehicles are used for hunting. Hunting vehicles are used for short airport transfers.

For larger groups or longer transfers, we use a luxury vehicle that can comfortably seat four passengers and, if necessary, a hunting vehicle to transport excess luggage.

Wild Fires

These do occur in the dry months. Controlled burning is done around the camp to prevent destruction by wild fire.
